Kotlin as a programming language for backend development is on the rise. And Ktor is one of the most popular frameworks for it. Ktor Features, soon to be renamed Plugins, are often misunderstood, though. Yes, all developers that work with Ktor use them. But how do they work, exactly? At Depop we had to create our own Feature to answer our specific needs for monitoring. In this talk, I'd like to cover how Features lifecycle works, and showcase some less obvious aspects of this process.
